Covid-19: Safety + Use of Instyle’s Products

Research shows that coronavirus become inactive more quickly on porous surfaces such as our textiles, aniline leathers and acoustic products.  Hard, shiny surfaces such as plastic, stainless steel and benchtops can support infectious virus expelled in droplets, for up to 72 hours. On fibrous and absorbent surfaces such as cardboard, paper, fabric and hessian, it becomes inactive more quickly.  It is recommended that frequently touched, non-porous surfaces, such as door handles, phones and desks should be disinfected regularly to reduce possible exposure to the virus.
While anti-microbial treatments and finishes may make people feel psychologically more comfortable, they have not been thoroughly tested to prove they are effective in fighting the new coronavirus.  Therefore, Instyle is not recommending any additional finished or treatments to our products until further research that evaluates antimicrobial treatments and whether they are safe for human health and the environment is available.  This information will be updated as additional research and data becomes available.
